The best arrival perk at Disney World just got much bigger: effective October 29, Disney’s free Airport Luggage Transfer service expanded to its remaining Moderate Resorts – Coronado Springs, Port Orleans French Quarter, and Port Orleans Riverside. If you’re staying Moderate on your next trip, your bags can now travel between Orlando International and your resort without you ever touching a carousel.
How the service actually works now
Airport Luggage Transfer lets guests on eligible domestic flights skip baggage claim entirely: pre-register, check your bags at your home airport, and they’re delivered to your Disney resort – with the reverse available on departure. The service returned in March 2025 at Pop Century, spread to all Value Resorts within weeks, added inbound arrivals last November, and has been steadily adding airlines: Southwest first, American and United in mid-2026, and JetBlue in late September as the first carrier out of MCO’s new Terminal C. Caribbean Beach was the pilot Moderate in August; this week’s expansion completes the category.
What to do with it
- Check eligibility before you count on it. You need both a participating resort AND an eligible airline on a domestic MCO flight – confirm the current list when you book, and again before you fly, because the roster keeps growing.
- Pre-registration is the whole game. The magic only happens if you register in advance – Disney’s window runs from 30 days to 24 hours before departure, and you’ll need both your Disney hotel confirmation number and your airline confirmation number – and check bags at the designated drop at your home airport. Register more than 7 days out and Disney mails your luggage tags; inside 7 days there are no tags, but your bags still arrive and stay trackable. Disney posts the current window and airline roster on its official Airport Luggage Transfer page, and registration itself runs through the BagCheck enrollment portal. Walking up unprepared means a normal baggage-claim day.
- Plan arrival day around bag delivery. Bags travel on their own schedule, not yours. Keep medications, park essentials and a change of clothes in your carry-on so a slower delivery never costs you park time.
- Deluxe guests: watch this space. With Values and Moderates covered, the Deluxe tier is the obvious next expansion – worth re-checking if you’re booking a Deluxe stay for early next year.
Skip-the-carousel was the single most-loved part of the old Magical Express era. Disney rebuilding it resort by resort and airline by airline is the quietest useful thing happening at Walt Disney World right now.
