New Zealand's 5 Best Adventure Activities - Erika's Travel Tips

Are you thinking about travelling to New Zealand this year?

If you are but not sure what activities are available, here are some tips on New Zealand’s 5 best Adventure activities.

Auckland Bridge Climb

The first activity in New Zealand for your list is the Auckland Bridge Climb; travellers remember to take your camera as the sight on top of the bridge is breathtaking, as you will get a picturesque view of the agricultural scenery and enchanting mountain landscapes. You will also have the opportunity to take photos of travellers bungy jumping off the bridge too.

Bungy Jumping

You can not go to New Zealand and not go bungy jumping!

AJ Hackett pioneered Bungy Jumping 25 years earlier in Queenstown; package deals include the Kawarau Bridge Bungy and the Nevis Bungy. Kawarau Bridge, ideal for beginners at 43 metres high and Queenstown’s only tandem Bungy, gives you the opportunity to bob above the water, dip into the water or get completely drenched. The Nevis Bungy, reaches 134 metres and has a ground rush of 8.5 seconds. In order to reach Nevis Bungy there is a private mountain access road that only allows 4WD.

Caving Adventure Tours

New Zealand is famous for its landscape and our third activity, Caving Adventure Tours in Waitomo, is 2 hours south of Auckland. The tours include walk-throughs and abseiling. Equipment is supplied (helmets, lights, special vertical gear, and overalls/wetsuits and PVC boots).

Off Road NZ

The fourth activity, off–road driving, is organised by Off Road NZ, located 20 minutes north of Rotorua City. Package deals include 4WD Bush Safaris, Monster 4X4 Thrill Rides or 390cc 4-stroke kart racing.

White Water Rafting

The final New Zealand activity is rafting in the River Valley, offering the choice of a white-water rafting trip (recommended for intermediate to experienced) or a scenic rafting trip on the Rangitikei River Taihape, located in New Zealand’s North Island. The White Water Rafting is approximately 3 hours duration, and 12 kms in length and the scenic rafting trips is one day duration as it includes a picnic lunch on the river.
