Qantas First Class Lounge - Erika's Travel Tips

How to Fly Around-the-World in First Class (for the price of an Economy ticket).

I recently completed an around-the-world trip. Thanks to some awesome advice from friends, I managed to fly First Class for the price of an Economy ticket.

How you ask?

Well I did ask, and I’m going to share with you the secrets so that you can do it too.

In this first article in the series – I’m going to share the most awesome way to start your trip – in the Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney!

The First Class Experience

My adventure began when I got picked up by a chauffeur service to take me to the airport.

At the airport we were met by a porter who loaded my bags onto a trolley and escorted me to a private check-in area where I could grab a seat and casually fill in my departure forms whilst the host checked me in and brought me my boarding passes, together with express passes to beat the queues at immigration.

After that – it was off to the lounge!

The Lounge

The Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney is one of the world’s best airport lounges (it’s on all the good Top-10 lists), and I could quickly see why!

As soon as you walk through the frosted doors you’re greeted and invited upstairs, where the lounge hosts hold onto your boarding pass for you (they come and grab you later when it’s time to board).

The lounge has it’s own day spa, so of course I enjoyed a nice massage before my flight. They also had facials and other treatments available too.

One of the most popular parts of the lounge is the restaurant. They have a huge menu that changes during the day, and a very well stocked bar.

I can highly recommend the eggs benedict and glass of Veuve Clicquot for breakfast.

Expert Tip: The salt & pepper squid is a favourite of first class regulars!

The lounge is huge! So there’s plenty of room to find a quiet spot to relax with a few drinks before your flight time.
